Okay, I no longer have the excuse that I don't blog because nobody's reading. I've gotten so many nice gifts as I get closer to my due date that say "I enjoy reading your blog, please write more!!" so apparrently a few souls out there are keeping in touch without me necessarily knowing. So here I go! I'm sure I'll be a veritable chatterbox come April 21, that's my last day of work before maternity leave. I'm leaving four weeks before my due date, so even though I'm trying to plan low impact activities for myself (since I'll be as big as a house by then), I'm sure I'll finish them on day 2 and spend my days blogging. In fact, the only reason I'm blogging now is becuase I'm home sick...well, not sick sick, just sore and worn out sick. I spent the weekend with my mom as she babysat Mia for the whole weekend while Allison & Roland were in Wisconsin at a wedding. by Sunday evening I had picked her up so much that I had a hard time standing and walking, two things you really shouldn't take for granted. My back has been hurting me for the last few weeks, and it's hard not to overdo it. I'm trying to let other people do stuff for me, but it's hard. Especially when it comes to Mia, since I want to hold her and play with her on the floor! Oh well, I'm on the couch now with my heating pad on my back and my laptop warming the lap, so I'm sure I'll bounce back tomorrow. hopefully I'll be okay for yoga!! Anyway....
...I should start breaking this up into readable paragraphs for ease of reading, huh? Otherwise I'll never get a bloggie...
Yes, that's the real reason I'm back on the blog, I heard there are awards for the best. Just like when Cory picks up a new hobby (he was researching pro golf tours when he bought a set of clubs last year that have sat in the garage unused for months!!), I'm convinced if I set my mind to it I'll win best blog next year. So watch out!!
Speaking of new hobbies, guess what's being delivered to the Omand house this Friday? An erg! Not that I'lll be using it anytime soon, but I convinced Cory that it's a worthwhile exercise. And, in his own style, he's ready to take the indoor rowing circut by storm and kick some ass! (I should stop talking about him, as I know he's one of my two frequent readers, as well as the administrator thus he could shut me down at any time). Anyway, I know he'll kick some ass because when we erged together at the last gym we belonged to that had two ergs (the old flywheels, they sucked, but it was fun to do it together), he was really really good. We figure it will be a really good idea to have one in the garage, we can pull it out in the backyard for a quick workout before work, and over the summer I can use it to get back in shape post baby. I figure she'd probably quite enjoy sitting in her bouncy seat being lulled to sleep by the white noise from the fan. New ergs, by the way, have a cool new feature - smart cards. You can plug them into your computer to program in workouts, and when plugged into the erg while you are doing a piece, it will record how well you did and track your progress. I'm excited to use this new hi-tech feature!
Anyway, onto other topics...my babyshower!! It was a few weeks ago, and it was really really nice. It was a ton of fun to get all my friends together from various walks of life. many people hadn't seen me since my waistline began expanding, so I'm sure I looked a bit different! I got lots of cute clothes and stuff, things are coming together. Last week we picked up the crib and changing table from BBRU, and Cory promptly fulfilled his daddy duties and set them up in the nursery. I'm trying not to be too crazy with the shopping, but it's hard. My obsessive nature forces me to go shopping whenever I have free time and buy things that "may" come in handy. I know I like to be prepared, but I need to accept that some things are hard to prepare for! I don't know if she'll be gassy, or have a hard time breastfeeding, or sleeping, or what. A lot of that stuff "they" insist you can't live without all depend on what kind of a baby you have, so I need to chill! If I had to guess right now, I'd say she's going to be the gymnast or ballerina type, the way she likes to flip around in my tummy! We have been enjoying the nightly Baby O Show of elbows and feet protruding from my abdomen. Quite crazy!!
Anyway, hopefully this extraordinarily long blog will satisfy you readers, and I'll end with my typical promise of "I'll blog more often." I will need to upload photos from my shower to show off my belly, I'll do that as soon as I can get off the couch. :) Love to all!! From both of us!!
