On Thursday, Tammy brought little Xander over for a first date with Audrey! here's a pic:

She was getting a little fresh with him, putting her hand on his knee...he responded by falling asleep. All in all, I think it went pretty well for her! He's a younger man and all, a whole 20 hours younger. It was great to catch up with Tammy and swap horror stories...or, I mean, stories of the most wonderful day of our lives, and the ensuing chaos that has been the last few weeks!!
We had a really scary realization this weekend -- the car doesn't always put Audrey to sleep, especially if she's hungry. On Saturday, we were coming back from a lovely dinner at CPK, in which she was a doll. On the Dumbarton bridge she decided she was hungry too, and proceeded to wail her little lungs out. We haven't let her get to such a frantic state...I mean, when we're home we pick her up and all is good, but when we're in the car there is only so much you can do. So it definately pained mommy and daddy's hearts, as well as our ears. Well, that episode didn't scare us completely into remaining homebodies; yesterday we went down to Allison & Rolands for RoRo's 31st birthday bash (in which we sadly watched France be defeated against the Italians, poor RoRo). Audrey slept the whol 1.5 hours on the way down, but the way home we were not so lucky. More wailing in Prunedale; we stopped, had some milk, calmed down, then more wailing in Gilroy. I sat in the back seat with her and tried to calm her down, which worked for the most part. Anyway, I'm sufficiently scared of driving with her now, especially if I'm alone. I'm supposed to go have tacos with my friends at work tomorrow, I might take BART. I wonder if I'll be accosted by homeless people if I breastfeed on BART. I successfully breastfed in public the other day at Panera, so that made me feel accomplished. I half expected people to point and laugh, but I guess I shouldn't worry what others think. Okay, must go now - she's been napping for and hour and 45 minutes, so I think my time is short...bye!
