Happy Birthday, Blog

Yes, my Blog is 1 year old, what a cute little blog, isn't she?? She's entering toddlerhood, I'm such a proud mom. Although she needs to gain weight by having more entries by her mommy, but I guess I've been a negligent parent by not blogging more often. Again, empty promises of blogging more, I know. I do come armed with new pictures, so never fear...

My excuse (if you care) is the move to the new house. We have a wireless network set up, but it doesn't reach to our office so Cory set our desktop up so we can surf the web on our tv. All this new technology that i have to learn, and I haven't. Plus I couldn't find the cable to download pictures from our camera, but I guess that box was unpacked now. Yes, the move was hectic but we are comfortably in our new pad for now. I had a birthday party last night, so it helped to have a date on the calendar for which we had to unpack by, and it's all good. We had a lot of fun last night; I noted to my friend Kat that I don't know when our parties turned into baby parties, since about half of the people had kids under 2. It was a lot of fun (don't worry, pictures are coming...)

I've been back to work for three weeks now, and it's going quite well. My boss has been remarkably cognizant of my time constraints, which is a nice surprise. Plus it's nice to hear every day "We're soooo glad you're back." :) But now I've been asked to go to Toronto for a week at the end of November. Confronted with leaving Audrey for a week is scary. Granted, Cory and I are planning on going to Tahoe for a few days the following week for our 5 year anniversary (his mom is coming to town to watch Audrey), but I guess I'll feel better being with Cory the first time I'm away overnight. Hell, the first night (again when Sandi was here in June) we just went to dinner and a movie and I was crying on the way home because I wanted to get there faster. What will happen to me when I'm in a whole foreign land? Ugh. I can't decide if I'm going to say no or not. I know I could and it would be fine, but on the other hand it sounds like an interesting conference. ugh.

Anyway, you likely just want to see my pictures, so here they are...

Uncle Dalon and Aunt Shannon came to visit a few weeks ago, and we all had a blast! It was a bit chaotic since their trip coincided with our move weekend, but they were a big help and hopefully got in some fun sightseeing as well. Plus, they got to be introduced to their niece. Audrey looooved to giggle at Uncle Dalon, I think he has the right goofy smile to crack her up...

Uncle Dalon & Aunt Shannon gave Audrey a super comfy set of PJ's, Audrey loves them so much she settled right down on daddy for a nap one night. I never get the pleasure of a sleeping baby, I guess cuz she'd be so close to a food source, but daddy was very proud he could replace her crib for a bit.

Auntie Alli got her a little Halloween outfit; I told Audrey to put on her scared face for the purposes of the picture. :)

We started solids last week...can you tell what Audrey thinks of it? She's actually been a champ, she's still not quite sure what to make of it all, but it sure is fun to have mommy and daddy dance around her and cheer each time she takes a bite. She actually got a bit of sweet potatoes tonight, and I think more ended up in her tummy than on the bib, which is a win for us.

Cory was impressed with the size of the peaches we got at the farmers' market one weekend, so he felt the need to memorialize it. Whatever.

This was at my birthday party last night - we put Audrey in her Halloween outfit, although it was unseasonably warm outside, so she was a bit overheated for the beginning of the evening. It was a great time had by all! Plus we ended the night with about 5 extra cases of beer. We'll be drunk till Christmas!

Audrey was quite pooped by the end of her first party - my friend Sona was holding her and she completely passed out. She was the perfect hostess baby, as she was passed around all night, but by 7:30 she had had it and needed a little dreamland. Which is where I need to go right now...

That's it for now... hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween! (boy don't I sound like a mom :) )
