3rd Birthdays and Snowstorms

Forgive my un-wordiness, but I'm exhausted! Audrey woke up at 6am this morning, and, as she did every morning this weekend, saying "Mia!!" We had a great snowy weekend in Tahoe with the Harmons! I'm starting, however, with Mia's birthday party a few weeks ago, when it was a balmy 70 degrees...

Mia had a Nemo themed party, complete with bounce house!!

The Amazing Auntie Alli actually painted this Nemo inspired cut out board for pictures! What a super mom!! (really, the her house was transformed into toddler fun zone, it was awesome!)

Audrey had fun playing in the sandbox with the other kids!

Mia blowing/spitting her candles out. The cake said "Happy Birtday." I guess spelling was not a pre-requisite for a job at the Nob Hill bakery.

Audrey says "Mmmmm, nummy!"

And now, onto the snow!!!

There was quite a bit when we got there on Friday, and we got about another three feet on Saturday! The house we were staying at had a sweet little sledding hill in the side yard, so we didn't have to go far for snowy fun (which was a good thing, since the roads were pretty treacherous!) I was just as happy playing in the yard and then inside the house, next to the fire.

About thirty seconds after this picture, Audrey took a face plant into the snow! She wasn't too thrilled, but she's gotta toughen up sometime!! ;)

Auntie Alli with our snowman!!

I don't know why I'm watching American Idol

I wanted to share some pictures of my nature walk with Audrey & the Turkey the other day. After the rains let up for a bit, we hit the trail in Leona Park for a bit. I left the baby backpack at home and made Audrey use her own little legs to get around. We had a blast!

Playing with her shadow

Mommy, check out this super rare interesting rock I found!

Finally! It's not raining and I'm outside!!

Woo hoooooo!

Would you like to play with this stick, Turkey?

Well, now what?

Oooh, look at this super rare very interesting leaf I found!

Look! It floats!

You can take pictures of me sometimes.

Yep, this is Oakland!

C'mon Turkey, Mom's being boring with that camera. Let's go.

Okay, time for bed for me!!

Ponytail girl

We got a haircut today, and when the hairdresser asked me if we wanted "glitter" I had no idea what she meant, but I said okay. yes, she meant literally sprinkling glitter (little cut up pieces of glass) on top of my daughter's head. Sure, it's cute and all, but now we have a glitter-ed up house! Oh well. I'll know better next time. Here are some pics -

Audrey has figured the whole camera thing out- once I turned it on, she immediately began saying "cheese" and standing there posing. Here she is trying to pose with the Turkey:

And here she is attacking the camera:

With my new "flexible" work schedule, I'm taking today off in exchange for working this Friday. So it's been a fun free day! We voted (Audrey thoroughly enjoyed showing the pollworkers her new Shrek baby and her Dora shoes), then got a gitter hair cut, a latte, and a nap. Who knows what the afternoon will hold! I'm getting over a weird weekend of almost-sickness. I've had a sore throat for four days, and it hasn't turned into anything else. That's why I've skipped Day 1 and Day 2 of bootcamp - since I only go 3 days a week, I've gotta show up tomorrow or I'll be crowed Queen Loser. I've been quite lacking in the motivation lately, so I've got to get it in gear! My work is going really well, I feel like I"m really making a good impact and I get to do all the dorky accounting stuff that I love doing! Okay, bye for now!
