Don't Drink and Drive

Okay, Cory and I caught a good 10 minutes of footage of Audrey dancing last night, but we both agreed that the whole time we were taping, we were thinking of those horrible drunk driving commercials where they show home movies of some kids playing, only to say they were later killed by drunk drivers. So the whole time I was taping Audrey I was thinking of this, and when Cory's face got in the shot I was thinking he'll probably come down with prostate cancer and I'll be watching this in a year, crying, and then will subsequently have to sell pot in my upscale neighborhood to make ends meet and provide for my kids. Ugh. I watch too much TV.

Speaking of kids, plural, I'm going to be a plural auntie!! Yay!! Allison told me last week over the phone, and I promptly dismissed her saying she was lying, but she brought it up again yesterday so I guess I must believe her. Due date is Dec 24th! Merry Christmas Mia!!

We had a fun time yesterday at Gilroy Gardens - I won't post the pictures, because they are basically the same as last fall (Audrey in flying goldfish, Mia in flying goldfish, Audrey and Mia in mini cars, Audrey and Mommy in caterpillar, etc), just everyone a little older. It was SOOOO hot! 93 degrees in Gilroy! Summer has come early. And only 10 days before we live in a house with central air. The good life...

The move is still on and we're still super excited! Our final walk through is Wednesday, so I can't wait to get in the house again. We signed all the papers last week, and I got the opportunity to walk the path from the backyard to the "Village" - the place in our 'hood with restaurants, shops, and Audrey's soon to be (well, okay, 3 years off) elementary school. It's literally a three minute walk. I'm so excited!! A farmers market every Sunday, and Starbucks lattes to boot, I'm going to be in heaven. Plus, we finally agreed on a new couch for our new family room, so on top of it all I get to shop and buy things. I know I pretend to be above consumerism, but I relapse from time to time. So whenever you're in Oakland or the SF Bay, do stop by!!

Ouchies in the Tummy

Being woken up at 5am with vomit in Audrey's hair is not fun, for anyone. She's got a little bug, nothing serious, but she's sure not her bubbly self today! We were watching Cars and I got on the phone for 10 minutes, and when I got back she was asleep on the couch. So now she's napping, hopefully she'll be refreshed and we can try some solid foods this afternoon!!

It's a shame, too, because it's beautiful weather this weekend, a perfect 70 degrees, which would be great for park goin'. We'll have to see how we feel tomorrow!!

In the meantime, here are some pics from a few weeks ago; we had friends visiting, so we took the ferry over to SF to the farmers market for some shopping fun! Audrey became obsessed with running through the big fountain, we had to tear her away! It was great fun!

It's been a long, hard 18 months...

I know, woe is me, I've allowed myself to get obsessed with real estate in the last 18 months, thereby spending every waking moment on craigslist or redfin, looking for the best deal in town. Audrey pretty much thought all families went around to 4 or 5 empty houses every Sunday between 1 and 4, I don't know what we're going to do with our free time! Yes, we've actually bought a house. I'm still a bit gun shy to post the realtor pics because of what happened to us the last time, so you're just going to have to wait until we move and you get the cheezy "We've moved!" cards in the mail with the new info. What I can tell you is that it has a dedicated guest bedroom for anyone that wants to come visit ... okay, not anyone, you have to know us and be a pre-approved visitor, but then you get your own room and bathroom! The bathroom won't even have a plastic toddler potty in it! Can you believe it? So I'm in a blissful state of furniture shopping, and a not so blissful state of planning the move, but at least it's likely going to be the last time we move for a looooooong time. ;)
