Well, we're home recuperating from our very first surgery... we can put that in the baby book. Audrey had ear tubs placed today, it was a very quick procedure, but she's still pretty upset. They had to put her out with anesthesia, which was traumatic...even though there was no iv, she didn't understand what the mask was that she was wearing and she fought the whole time. Probably didn't help that Mommy was sobbing in the corner. I knew it wouldn't be easy to watch, and it wasn't, but we got through it. When she woke up 15 minutes later (that's how quick the whole thing was), she was disorientated and cried for about a half hour. We got her home quickly and she's been upstairs sleeping it off. It's been a long time since I couldn't make her smile, and she hasn't smiled since we got home. I sure hope she feels better when she wakes up, it'll be good to have my giggly smilin' baby back.

Yes, returned are the times that I don't blog for weeks at a time, and when I finally do get around to it, all I spew are promises to blog more. Life has been busy, and it will be even more so as I start back to my ice cream work tomorrow. Audrey started day care last week and I wasn't sad at all. (big lie, if you can't read my sarcasm in type). Anyway, I'll keep this short, and atone for my lack of blogging by providing you with recent pictures...
Okay, so the smiles are a bit lacking; she's thoroughly confused at the flash of the camera and can do without it, but I continue to perform my mommily duties and snap away. You'll just have to trust me that she smiles and laughs all the time.

I diverted from my normal topic of Audrey, Audrey and more Audrey the past few posts, so I must get back to my narcissistic ways. My little girl is learning about consolidation from her MBA mommy...she's decided, instead of pooping a little bit each day, to hold it all inside for three days and then have a big blowout that requires a hose and goggles to clean up. Yep, and today's blowout was at dinner, when daddy noticed an oh so innocent stain on her pants which, upon further investigation, turned out to be the poop that was seeping out of her diaper and down her leg. Oh yeah, by the way, this blog contains descriptions of a graphic nature and one should use caution before reading, especially if one is about to embark upon eating...at least I didn't take a picture of it and then blog that. No, we just promptly paid the bill, came home, and took a bath. Crisis averted...until Tuesday, when we do it all again...

Audrey is officially a thumbsucker. Left thumb. It doesn't seem to be much of a self-soothing thing, however, because her remaining four fingers end up poking herself in the eye and she just gets pissed off. Oh well, it kind of works. At least now I don't have to attempt to drive and hold a pacifier in her mouth so she doesn't spit it out at the same time.
Okay, not so much killer, but maiming. Two days ago I was cutting Audrey's nails and I clipped her thumb. We both cried like, well, babies. She has a little scab, I just know she's going to hold this against me till I die. Then just a bit ago I pinched her hand while clipping her into her swing. Ugh, I just can't do anything right! Anyway, she's asleep now, so I guess it's not all that bad.
Don't have much time to blog...Audrey is having an off day and can't seem to nap or go very long without Mommy entertainment or soothing. Anyhow, took these pics last week when it was 108 in Fremont! All these cute girly clothes, and we went for about a week in only a diaper. But we survived, and hopefully we won't see temps that high the rest of the summer!
