On infrequent blogging

I would bet that the most common topic of blog entries around the world is apologizing for not blogging more often.  I will not apologize (in this entry), but it has been far too long since my last entry -- on this or any other blog.  It is difficult to find time to update one blog, much less two.  My work blog tends to get more attention (which, in it's current state, is a sad state of affairs), but most of the time, when I think of something to write, and actually have time, I'm at home.  Blogging on my work blog from home smacks of completely unnecessary overtime, so I avoid it at all costs.  When I do get the urge to write at home, I do make a solid attempt.  Unfortunately, as I am not (yet) able to blog my thoughts via ESP, before typing word one, I have to:

  1. get to a computer (or grab my notebook)
  2. possibly boot the computer (or resume on the laptop)
  3. wait for the OS to boot
  4. wait for the OS to become usable (esp. Windows XP)
  5. load up the MT interface, or start w.Bloggar
  6. write!

Best case is that I'm already on my laptop.  Worst case is that I have a ~5-10m delay between the idea and having some way of writing it down.  I know, I know... there is always paper and pen, but I never think that way when I want to blog :).

Lazy @#$(ard. :) If you took the bus the 4 miles to work you'ld have at least 15 minutes to put down all your thoughts, stealing wireless all the way. Once that baby gets here....bye bye MT, hello gallery/flickr!.

I don't think there's any free wireless between me and work, and neither is there a bus line that goes directly between me and work. If there were, I might consider taking it, but as it stands, the 5m drive is better for my schedule :).
